DENTAL NURSE TRAINING
We would like to welcome Grace to the Practice she will begin training to become a Dental Nurse very soon. We would also like to wish Kristen our best wishes in her fourth coming exam. We are sure they both will become excellent Dental Nurses.

We are please to announce that we can now offer the latest Zoom Teeth Whitening treatment here at Charnwood Dental Shepshed. NEW NHS CHARGES – 1ST APRIL 2011
There are three standard charges on the NHS, the amount you pay will depend on the treatment you need to keep your teeth and gums healthy. The new charges are £17.00, £47.00 and £204.00.
MISSED APPOINTMENTS
We are not allowed to Charge for missed NHS appointments. However if a patient misses 3 NHS appointments within the last 2 year period, then we will refuse to see the patient again on the NHS(other than in exceptional circumstances).
PRIVATE MISSED APPOINTMENTS
Missed appointments or late cancellations with the Hygienist or for private treatment with a Dentist will incur a time based charge.
PATIENT QUESTIONNAIRES
We are striving to offer an excellent service to you all and we would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to fill out a questionnaire form at reception. We will audit the feedback and display the details at reception for you the patient to see.
EMERGENCY NUMBER
If you have an out of hour’s emergency you can seek advice on our website www.charnwooddental.co.uk .
As from the 25th October 2010 the new out of ours telephone number is 0845 8400065.They will give telephone advice and offer an emergency appointment if required.
NEW PATIENTS
At present we are accepting both NHS and DenCare/Private patients.
DENCARE
We are pleased to be able to offer the DenCare Plan – our own membership scheme with Dianne Rydings. The scheme offers a number of benefits, late evening appointments and the use of top quality materials. We operate a monthly or annual payment scheme, payments can be made by direct debit and cost as little as £2.65 a week for more information please pick up a DenCare information package from reception.
PERSONAL DETAILS
Please inform us of any changes to your address, surname, telephone numbers (home, work and mobile), medical history/medication and doctor’s name and surgery. There is a form available at reception for you to complete if you have any changes.
EMAIL ADDRESS
We are now able to send email appointment reminders. If you would like to be sent an email reminder in the future could you please fill out one of the forms available at reception.
PAYMENTS
It is our Practice Policy that all patients pay for any treatment they have had after each visit with the Dentist. The practice is no longer accepting cheques as a method of payment.

The dreaded C word is here again! Please look out for some fantastic offers over the next month. Whether it be treating someone to a ‘showbiz white smile’ or some little stocking fillers for those loved ones! You could always just grab a bargain and treat yourself.
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Dental Hygienists are oral health educators who can remove deposits of stain, hardened plaque and bad bacteria, making a patients mouth cleaner and healthier.
Sarah qualified fromNewcastlein 2001 and has worked at Charnwood Dental Centre since then.
Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays following referral from your dentist.
Recent figures indicate that 98% of the population have gum disease. Regular visits to the dental hygienist can help to prevent and control gum disease.
Current research shows that gum disease may trigger heart problems.
If you would like to see Sarah, then please contact reception or discuss it with your dentist.
Finally, the Practice would like to thank all our patients( both old and new} for their continued support. We are committed to our patients and still strive to an individual service to all our patients at a level of care that we would expect ourselves.
