Clare our technician and Aneta one of our dentists have both had baby boys and Aneta will be returning to work after the Easter Break and Averil will continue with us until July. We have a new Sterilising Nurse Naomi who started with us in January Naomi will also be working in surgery with all of the Dentists NVQ- Sam started her training in September. NEW NHS CHARGES – 1ST APRIL 2008 There are three standard charges on the NHS, the amount you pay will depend on the treatment you need to keep your teeth and gums healthy. The new charges are £16.20,£44.60 and £198.00. MISSED APPOINTMENTS There is no longer a charge for missed NHS appointments, however 2 missed appoinments will result in this dental practice, being unable to offer you further treatment on the NHS.You can be seen privately or alternatively you can call NHS direct. EMERGENCY NUMBER For NHS emergency treatment out of surgery hours, including bank holidays and weekends please contact NHS direct on 0845 6031322, who will assess your problem and offer you an emergency appointment if they feel it is necessary. This will be at Leicester Royal Infirmary.For private patient emergencies please call the practice 01509 503208 and follow the answerphone instructions. If you need to see a dentist to treat you in an emergency there will be a minimum £100.00 call out charge for this service. NEW PATIENTS We are still accepting patients on the NHS, children will be taken on with adults. DENCARE We are pleased to be able to offer the Dencare Plan – our own membership scheme with our Principal Dentist Dianne Rydings. The scheme offers a number of benefits, including late night and Saturday afternoon appointments and the use of top quality materials. We operate a monthly or annual payment scheme, payments can be made by direct debit and cost as little as £2.60 a week for more information please pick up a Dencare information package from reception. SMOKING CESSATION We are no longer able to offer this service here but if you would like more information on this service please pick up a leaflet at reception. PERSONAL DETAILS Please inform us of any changes to your address, surname, telephone number(home work and mobile) and medical history/medication and doctor’s name and surgery. There is a form available at reception for you to complete if you have any changes. INFECTION CONTROL Infection control is of prime importance to Charnwood Dental Centre. It is essential to our staff colleagues and patients. Our staff have recently completed a Cross Infection refresher course. All members of staff adhere to our infection control policy, and the clinical manager oversees practices. Main points of policy Personal protective equipment is worn by all patients and staff Disposable gloves are worn and changed between patients Disposable items are used where possible i.e. needles,mouthwash cups,hads towels,suction pipes etc. Full medical histories are taken for all patients and are checked regulary. All staff are immunised against Hepatitus B and Tetanus. Instruments are sterilised after each patient in an autoclave at 134 degrees centigrade. All surfaces i.e. chair,spittoon, work surfaces and disinfected between patients. All clinical waste is removed and incinerated by a certifed waste disposal company. TRAINING Training is very important to the practice and we endeavour to update our staff when ever we can. All our receptionists and Mark Rydings(Practice Manager) have recently completed a Customer Care and Complaint Handling course. All our nurses and Mrs Rydings also completed a Cross Infection Course recently. BOTOX Dianne Rydings is now offering Restylane Dermal Fillers/Botox Treatment.
