In an Emergency
Emergencies during practice hours
Please contact the practice early in the day. We will always endeavour to see a patient in pain on the same day.
If we do not have an appointment available we will suggest the best time for you to 'sit and wait' although we cannot guarantee how long you may have to wait as patients with appointments usually have priority.
Emergency treatment out of hours
All Patients
In case of emergency all patients are able to use the NHS emergency
service by phoning NHS Direct on 0845 6031322.
Registered Private/DenCare Patients

that there is a £100 call out charge payable to the duty dentist should

This emergency service is available 365 days a year. For extreme
emergencies after 9.00 pm at night on weekdays and 5.30 at weekends (
such as uncontrollable bleeding following an extraction or facial
swelling that may restrict your breathing ) please attend the Accident
and Emergency department of Leicester Royal infirmary.
For all cases of toothache please see our page on Pain Management and
contact the surgery as soon as possible during opening hours.
Dental emergencies whilst away from Home ( Over 50 miles from Shepshed
or Quorn )
All of our DenCare and DenCare+ Patients are covered by the British Dental Association Accident and Emergency Insurance. This policy covers you for dental emergencies worldwide. The policy will cover you for emergency treatment up to the values shown in the policy booklet (subject to a £15 excess for every claim incident). If you have a dental emergency, find a local dentist to treat you, pay the dentist for the treatment and obtain a receipt detailing the treatment provided. On your return please contact the surgery and we will help to process your claim under the insurance policy.
