Our Quorn Practice Location The practice is located within a small group of shops in the centre of the charming village of Quorn. Nestling in between the chemist shop and Bradleys mini market, the practice is opposite a large free car park and the village Health Centre. Surgeries Our Quorn dental practice opened to patients on monday 25th July 2005. The practice has one Dentists surgery and one Hygienists surgery. X-Rays and Inter Oral Pictures We have the latest Digital intra oral X-ray equipment. This has several advantages over the traditional film based x-rays which are still used by most dental practices. Firstly digital x-rays are available instantly, allowing us to give immediate diagnosis or to check progress on such things as root fillings mid treatment. Secondly the radiation dose for digital xrays is significantly lower than film based x-rays, making it much safer for patients and staff. Finally digital x-rays do away with the need for the handling and safe disposal of caustic chemicals, used for developing film. We are equiped with a new inter oral digital camera. This enables the Dentist to record and show the patient, detailed, close up images of various problem areas in the mouth. The inter oral camera is an invaluable piece of equipment to help both diagnose and explain, dental treatment plans. Sterilisation We follow strict guidelines to control cross infection:- We use disposable items wherever possible, such as plastic cups. Non-disposable items such as dental drills and hand instruments are sterilised after every use. Disposable gloves are always worn and changed for every patient. Work surfaces and handles are cleaned and disinfected between patients. All of our drills, hand instruments and trays are sterilised after each patient. Each of our re-usable instruments are washed individually and then sterilised in a steam autoclave to a temperature of 134 degrees centigrade. Children We recommend that children register from birth at the practice and attend as early as possible, to familiarise themselves with the surroundings and receive advice from the dentist and hygienist. Disabled Facilities The front entrance has a wheelchair ramp available for disabled patients and a fully equiped disabled toilet. The surgeries are designed to allow for wheelchair access. Our Quorn Practice has the following Opening Hours: Mon 08:30 to 18:30 Tue 08:30 to 17:30 Wed 08:30 to 17:30 Thu 08:30 to 17:00 Fri 09:00 to 13:00 Saturdays: We open 1 Saturday afternoon per month 13:00 to 16:00 (usually 1st Saturday in the month, please ring to check).
